BENEO plants in Wijgmaal and Confienza receive high score of 98.5% in first IFS audit

July 2012 - BENEO’s plants in Wijgmaal, Belgium and Confienza, Italy, have been awarded their first International Food Standard (IFS) certification, with a score of 98.5% at higher level. BENEO’s functional rice derivatives are produced at both plants, including the company’s renowned Remyline, Remygel and Remyflo brands.
The results at BENEO’s plants in Wijgmaal and Confienza prove compliance with the highest industry standards and re-enforce BENEO’s excellent IFS records previously received at its other plants in Oreye, Belgium, Offstein, Germany and in Pemuco, Chile that were rated at 97%, 99,89% and 99,36% respectively.  The high score certifications affirm BENEO’s dedication to quality and support the company’s aim to become the preferred partner for functional ingredients customers worldwide.
Dr. Matthias Moser, Member of the BENEO Executive Board, comments: “We are pleased to see that our plants in Wijgmaal and Confienza, that produce a multitude of different rice derivatives, have proven themselves to be compliant to internationally accepted standards.  This outstanding result from the IFS for our production facilities in Belgium and Italy underscores our commitment to provide the highest quality products worldwide. BENEO strives to achieve continuous improvement in all fields, in order to offer the best possible products and services to customers.”
The IFS is a standard for auditing the quality and safety of food processes and products and is conducted on a yearly basis. It confirms compliance to the highest standards and is acknowledged throughout the worldwide food industry as well as by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
